Neighbor calls police about woman screaming “Let me out”, turns out to be a parrot
A frightened neighbor called 911 after hearing what she believed was a screaming woman “Help, help, let me out!” However, it turned out to be just a parrot.
Four deputies arrived at Lake Worth Beach, Florida residence last month to see a man working on a car in his driveway.
The pleas for help that made a neighbor think a woman was possibly being held and tortured against her will captured the deputies’ arrival through the Ring video doorbell app.
“I’ll bring the screamer out to you,” said the house owner after being questioned about the screams coming from his home.
Shortly after, he brought out the source of the screams – his 40-yea-old parrot Rambo.
The cheeky bird can be seen greeting the officers, who seem to share a laugh before leaving.
“Our Deputies in Lake Worth Beach came to the help of someone screaming for help. Hilarity ensued,” the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office stated on Facebook.

Rambo’s owner said that he was working on changing the breaks on his wife’s car and the bird was on the outside porch, where it was talking and singing.
“Sometime later four police officers showed up saying a neighbor called because she heard a woman screaming for help,” he said.
“I promptly introduced the officers to Rambo and we all had a good laugh. Afterward, I also introduced Rambo to the neighbor who called in the screaming. She too had a good laugh.”
He added that he had taught the parrot screaming when he was still in his youth.
“Sometimes Rambo yells ‘help, help, let me out’. Something I taught him when I was a kid and Rambo lived in a cage,” he said.
And it isn’t the first instance a shameless parrot has caused a ruckus. In 2018, a parrot was caught making orders by using an Alexa device.
Rocco the parrot was ordering strawberries, a watermelon, and a water boiler while his owner was out of the house. But thanks to a parental restriction his purchases did not go through.
The same year, another parrot told firefighters who had been out on a mission to rescue it to “f*** off.”
