This Magical Blind Owl Has Awe-Inspiring Galaxies In His Eyes

Zeus is a Western Screech owl who has the entire Universe in his soul, because his eyes are made of galaxies.

This little guy’s eyes reflect our whole universe – they are a mirror to the heavens that shine upon us.

Zeus has been blind since a very young age and has only 10% of his vision, so he cannot be put back into nature. Hence, he has to stay at the Wildlife Learning Center (WLC) in California where he is being properly taken care of.

He has been named the Greek God of thunder and sky due to his incredible, eyes filled with galactic beauty.

“In our combined 40-plus-years of working with wildlife, we’ve never seen anything quite like it,” revealed the team at southern California’s Wildlife Learning Center (WLC), who have been Zeus’ guardians since 2012. “But he’s doing great! He still hangs out in the office with us every day and is otherwise completely healthy.”

His magical eyes are the result of protein clots and blood pigment, but in addition he has cataracts.

To be a star you must shine your own light, follow your own path and don’t worry about the darkness, for that is when the stars shine the brightest.

His current state is likely the result of a predator attack, but a flying accident is also permissible.

Zeus cannot be released back into nature due to his condition, nor can her hunt prey himself, so the workers at WLC are happy to care for him. Zeus is being fed daily, and loves his proteins.

“We have seen people just about taken to tears when meeting this most special little owl,” they say. “It’s remarkable that Zeus’ disability brings so much awareness, sensitivity and concern for not just screech owls, but all types of wildlife, as well as the environment we share. Zeus is truly an ambassador … he’s a joy. It’s not just a responsibility for us to care for him, but a privilege.”
